Dr. Kathleen Page discusses challenges posted by COVID-19 for Baltimore's Latino community.
Dr. Kathleen Page, an infectious diseases professor at the Hopkins School of Medicine, has been working in the more heavily Hispanic area of Southeast Baltimore, which “has definitely been hit hard,” and where many residents are still showing up to work at front-line jobs. “The messaging can be very difficult because the reality is that in these minority communities where there’s a lot of poverty, it can be necessary to go out and work," she said.
