LaMocha: A Mobile Technology to Promote HIV Testing among Immigrant Latino Men

Foreign-born Latino males have a high risk of late HIV diagnosis and presentation to care, which can lead to poor clinical outcomes and ongoing HIV transmission in the community. We propose to evaluate if tailored videos delivered through a tablet by a Latino Health Worker and regular SMS text messages to participant’s personal cell phones improve timely HIV testing rates among 1st generation immigrant Latino males in Baltimore.
