Johns Hopkins Infectious Diseases (ID) Grand Rounds

Summary:

CCGHE broadcasts monthly Johns Hopkins (JH) Infectious Diseases (ID) Grand Rounds to centers in the Democratic Republic of Congo as an initial inroad to improve clinical education. ID Grand Rounds is an educational conference where JH faculty and trainees discuss clinical cases from the JH Hospital ID service. Typically, three cases are presented by a JH Post-Doctoral ID Fellow (two adult and one pediatric). A faculty member is invited to discuss each case, generating a differential diagnosis list that is voted upon by the live and viewing audiences, which is followed by a review of the literature relevant to the case(s) presented. CCGHE now provides a global audience with open access to all live and more than 275 archived webcasts of ID Grand Rounds via the CCGHE website. ID Grand Rounds online has been accessed more than 45,000 times and is specifically being accessed by health workers in Tanzania to support their clinical eduation needs.
